Confirmation Program
The Confirmation Program at St. Matthew is designed to foster faith maturation in the young people of the congregation. Youth who are entering 7th grade are encouraged to enroll in the program. The program consists of several elements including:
- Regular participation in worship, Bible, study and opportunities for service within the congregation
- Six units of instruction (each consisting of 10 hours of instructional time)
- Participation as a worship assistant (acolyte)
- Ten hours of Christian service fulfilled by participation in various ministries at St. Matthew
- Twenty sermon studies
- Participation in an overnight retreat
Upon completion of the program, students will confirm their Christian faith and deliver their written essay at a worship service of their choosing.
The program has been developed in such a way that students may progress at their own pace. Each of the six instruction units will be offered multiple times throughout the year. Please see the links below for the current schedule of instruction.
