3,000 Pounds of Goods Donated to Haiti Recovery Effort

Members of St. Matthew, as well as community members and other area churches, combined forces to donate more than 3,000 pounds of food and other items for the Haiti Recovery effort. The items were collected as part of a larger effort by Lutheran Church Charities (LCC) to bring relief to the people of Haiti. Items such as bottled water, canned foods, rice, beans, toiletries and soap were delivered to St. Matthew. On Monday, February 1, LCC picked up the items and took them to a warehouse in Itasca. From there, the items will be sorted and prepared to be shipped directly to Haiti.
